Marion E. “Gene” Bales age 91, of Findlay and formerly of Cridersville passed away Friday, April 6, 2018 at Bridge Hospice. He was born March 31, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Marcus and Cleo Mae Ebling Bales. He married Mary Ann Mangus almost 70 years ago and she survives in Findlay.
Gene was a member of Cridersville United Methodist Church and had taught Sunday school for decades and also helped with the youth fellowship program. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working and photography. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and taking motorcycle trips.
Additional survivors include children: Jean Ann (Rory) Kiser of Rutherfordton, NC, Terri Jane (Mike) Krebs and Larry Neal (Laurie) Bales from Findlay, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 siblings: Dorothy June (Tom) Edwards of Lima, Tommie Lee (Dalene) Bales of Waynesfield and Shirley Mae (Sam) Hager of Lima.
The family will receive friends Thursday, 6-8 p.m., at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m., Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Casey Ann Irwin officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
