Marjorie R. Tarter, age 90, of Lima died 3:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 19, 2010
at Cridersville Health Care. She was born Jan. 4, 1920 in Oak Hill, Ohio to John E. and Gwendolyn L. Gilliland Morgan. She married James L. Tarter June 24, 1939 and he survives in Lima.
Additional survivors include2 sons: John L. (Claudia) Tarter of Dayton, OH, Daniel M. Tarter of Brownsville, MI, 2 daughters: Glenna (Dwane) Smith of Edgerton, Kansas, Vickie (Robert) Bidwell of Wapakoneta, 8 grandchildren: Brian Bidwell, Brad Bidwell, Greg Tarter, Jennifer (Tarter) DeFinis, Erika Tarter, Michelle (Tarter) Sievers, Matthew Tarter and Brandon Smith, 11 great grandchildren, and a sister: Marie Sheward.
She was preceded in death by a son: James M. Tarter, a sister: Lela Evans and a brother-in-law Harry Sheward.
Mrs. Tarter had been a dietician for Perry Schools and Ottawa Valley Center and had also been a homemaker. She was a member of the Perry Grange and the Perry Lioness Club where she had been named Lioness of the year.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Salvation Army.
Private family graveside services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
