Mary A. Unum, age 88, of Cridersville, passed away at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 6, 2021, at Kindred of Lima.
Mary was born July 10, 1933, in Alger, Ohio, to the late Grant C. and Molly (Marshall) Johnson.
On October 10, 1956, she married Jack Unum, who preceded her in death on January 6, 2014.
She was a 1951 graduate of Alger High School, Alger, and attended The Ohio State University and Edison State College. Mary was employed at United Telecom, Weight Watchers, Allen County Child Support Enforcement Agency as an Investigator retiring in 1998, and a Mary – Kay Cosmetic Consultant for 25 years.
Mary was Charter Member Communications Workers of America local #4470 performing as Vice President from 1960 to 1965, Mary – Kay High (Sales) Consultant in 1972, Communications Workers of America #4319 Service Recognition in 1991, Otterbein Lifestyle Community resident Volunteer of the Year 2016 and Member of Trinity Chapter #16, Order of the Eastern Star.
Survived by son – Anthony J. Unum; 2 grandchildren – Anastasia and Zachary Unum; and 4 sisters – Kita Moore, Brenda (Robert) Mason, Peggy (Jerry) Hegge, and Kay Fults.
Preceded in death by – her parents; her husband Jack; and 5 siblings – Barb Jarrell, Marge Greer, Bill Johnson, June Honaker and Ruth Eldridge.
There will be no public services or visitation.
