Mary E. Crabtree was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left the world on May 6, 2022, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia.

She was born to Willard B. Bradley and Maxine Nichols Bradley on June 5, 1943. After attending Wurtland Schools, Mary married James A. Brown with whom she had four children: Terry Lee, Debra Lynn, James A. Jr., and Timothy Keith.

As a mother of a special needs child, Mary became an advocate for the No Child Left Behind Act of 1975 and was honored by State Representative Ron Cyrus with the Kentucky Colonel Distinction for this work.

Later in life, Mary was remarried to Jack Crabtree and lived happily in Lima, Ohio. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Jack, and by her three children Debra (Kirk) Shepherd, James (Kimberly) Brown and Tim Brown. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Terry Lee Brown. She has one stepdaughter, Jackie Crabtree Bramlette, and three grandsons, Brandon (Carolyn) Marshall, Dustin (Melanie) Marshall, and James Nathan (Stephanie) Brown.
