Mary J. (Marlatt) Jackson, age 83 of Wapakoneta, died at 4:16 a.m., Tuesday, January 31 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born February 15, 1933 in Allen County, Ohio. The daughter of the late William Guy and Anna L. Riggle Marlatt. She was the beloved and devoted wife of 38 years to the late Dale L. Jackson.
Mrs. Jackson was a homemaker who enjoyed baking and decorating cakes. Other hobbies included gardening, canning, quilting, and her love of flowers. She will be remembered for being a good, hardworking person; she was known for her patience along and her tenacity; always having her door open and never picking one side over another. Her deep love will continue in the memories she shared with her family and friends.
Survivors include 5 children – Cindy (Harvey) Stowell of Clinton, WI; Tom (Jan) Jackson of Wapakoneta; Susie (Bill) Maize of Bluffton; Polly Garmatter of Cridersville; and Andrew (Crystal) Jackson of Lima; 19 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a sister – Dolly ‘Dot’ Johnson of Lima. and sister-in-laws; Francis Marlott, Shirley Miller and Sharon Jackson.
She was preceded in death by a son – Sam L. Jackson; 8 brothers; and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will begin 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Bill Maize will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
