Mary L. “Peg” DeLong, age 88, of Wapakoneta died at 6:45 Monday morning at St. Rita’s Hospice. She was born Jan. 1, 1928 to the late Dave and Ida Jeanette Stombaugh Clay. She married Henry Allen DeLong Feb. 7, 1945 and he survives in Wapakoneta.
Mary had been a homemaker and took pleasure in keeping track of Allen all these almost 72 years.
Additional survivors include a son Allen L. (Kendra) DeLong of Wapakoneta, 2 granddaughter Kylie DeLong and Amanda DeLong and a great granddaughter EmmaLynn DeLong-Truesdale; a sister Mildred Crawford of Lima and a sister-in-law Flora DeVoe of Indian Lake.
She was preceded in death by a brother Fred ‘Bud’ DeVoe.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 7 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Charlotte Hefner officiating. Burial will follow in St. Matthew Cemetery near Cridersville.
