Mary M. Springer, age 92 of Lima, died Friday, November 15, 2013 at home surrounded by her family. She was born October 25, 1921, near Delphos, Ohio; to the late James H. and Minnie B. Nagel Claypool On May 20, 1944 she married Albert L. Springer who died February 21, 2009.
Mrs. Springer was a homemaker and a consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics. She was an active member of Forest Park United Methodist Church in Lima where she loved serving in numerous ways, and a former member of the Christian Women’s Club. One of her favorite hobbies was visiting garage sales, she was a seamstress, and used to spend summers in Michigan and winters in Florida. Her children and grandchildren were very special and she valued time spent with them.
Survivors include 2 sons – Jerry L. (Deborah) Springer of Lima; Randy Jay (Debbie Roper) Springer of Lima; Lou Ann (Randy) McGuire of Lima; 3 grandchildren – Joelene (Dave Brunner) Jordan, Lorna Springer, and Jack McGuire; 2 great grandchildren – Brooke (Joseph) Kroupa and Kitiera Heffner; a great great grandson due in March; and a brother – Eugene Claypool of Ft. Wayne, IN.
She was preceded in death by a sister – Mildred Utrup and brothers – Allan Claypool and Bob Claypool.
Funeral services will begin 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Forest Park United Methodist Church, Lima. Pastor Tim Benjamin will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be given to Forest Park United Methodist Church.
