Matthew R. Biederman, age 40 of Lima, passed at 7:08 p.m., Saturday, October 8, 2022 at St. Rita’s Mercy Health. He was born December 2, 1981 in Guam. He is survived by his parents Michael Biederman of Bluffton and Dee Slone Biederman of Lima.

Matt graduated from Allen East High School, received his Associates Degree in accounting, and had worked in factories. He loved all sports and was a huge Pittsburg Steelers fan. He was a talented handyman who enjoyed spending time in the kitchen making goodies for family and friends. He was an outstanding human being, with a genuine, caring, gentle soul. Matt will be remembered for being a deep thinker, willing to stand up for people, being a positive role model, and always speaking positively about others. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family.

Also surviving are 2 sisters – Amber Biederman of Harrod and Kelly (Dustin) Hunt of Florida; 4 nieces – Kylee and Hayli which he had a special bond with; plus, Addisen and Mayclyn; a maternal grandmother – Patricia Slone of Lima and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a maternal grandfather – Nevin Slone; paternal grandparents – Walter and Marilyn Biederman.

The family will have a gathering in honor of Matt from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2022 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. His cremated remains will be buried at a later date in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer’s Association, or doing a good deed for a someone in need.
