Merle R. ‘Dick’ Wooley, age 73 of Buckland, passed at 9:52 a.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at Lima Memorial Hospital.  He was born June 19, 1949 in Lima, Ohio to the late Clyde Edwin and Estelle Irene (Pulfer) Wooley.

Merle retired as a handyman. He previously worked at AmCast, Air Stream Security, and Wapak Telephone Company. He was an U.S. Army Veteran and a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Wapakoneta. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing any type of music, liked riding motorcycles, and working with wood.

He is survived by a son – David James (Theresa) Wooley of Kentucky; a daughter – Karen (Ron) Lenhart of Wapakoneta; 5 grandchildren – Cameron, Collin, and Kerrigan Lenhart, Morgan and Andrew Wooley; 3 brothers – Terry (Ina) Wooley of Michigan; Garry (Patty) Wooley of Wapakoneta; Bruce (Diane) Wooley of Pennsylvania; 2 sisters – Jeanne Clark of Wapakoneta and Bernice (Larry) Mullins of Lima; and his former wife – Jean (Johnson) Landry.

Funeral services will begin 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 27, 2023 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. Douglas Pretorius will officiate. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens with military rites to follow.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
