Obituary

Mertis Hackworth Foust, age 89, passed away on August 24, 2018 in Lima, Ohio. She was born in Floyd County, Kentucky to Cash and Pearl Adams Hackworth, who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of Lafayette High School and Lima Business College. In 1954 she married Robert Foust, who passed away in 2002. They spent most of their married life living in Marion and then in Westerville, Ohio before retiring to South Carolina and subsequently returning to Lima, Ohio. She is survived by her daughters Lisa Foust of Lima and Pam Gray (Donnie) of Westerville, Ohio and three grandchildren, Emilee Granger of Findlay, Ellie Foust of Lima and Foster Gray of Westerville, a niece and several nephews. In addition to her loving husband of over 40 years, she was also preceded in death by four sisters and 2 nieces. Visitation is scheduled for Monday, August 27 from 11- to noon at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville, followed by a brief service and a private family burial. Memorial contributions may be made to The National CASA Association, advocacy for abused and neglected children as Mertis wanted only the best life for all children.
