Theresa and family,Just a year ago, I shared of you welcoming me into your home for a Teens for Christ meeting when I was 14. Years later (1995), Mike served on my small group when I interviewed and was recommended for full membership and ordination as an Elder in The United Methodist Church.I will always treasure your and his warmth and compassion.I am also sorry I was not aware of Liza's passing. She was exactly six months younger than me, so her birthday will forever be a moment of prayer for you all. She was a light in high school of Christian faith, and I am guessing that light shone on.May you find comfort as you read and re-read the words of all of us who served alongside Mike in ministry. In the love of Jesus, by the power of the Spirit,

To Terri and family, Jeff and I were so sorry to hear of Dr. Mike's passing. His heart was so huge and we were so blessed to know him. He was a great part of our return to Community Church in Circleville and he helped plant seeds of faith in our hearts while we were there. I will always remember his beautiful voice, his incredible smile and the joy he always seemed to have in life and in serving the Lord. We truly understand the loss (having just lost dad) and know it will leave a big whole in your family. But we are also rejoicing in the fact that he and dad are now hanging out in the glorious presence of the Lord. Comfort and peace for your hearts. Sincerely, Suzanne & Jeff Bandy

Dr. Mike was the main reason my husband and joined the Methodist church in Sylvania, for which we will be eternally grateful. He made us feel welcome and we enjoyed his sermons, unlike we had experienced previously. Thank you, Dr. Mike

Mrs Jenkins,Vanceine, and family. My condolences to each family member. Rev. Jenkins was always a beam of light around the Elida area. Although I never knew him well, I never saw him without a warm, broad smile that invited friendship! He was a shining light for God to many people and made this world a better place! I regret that I was unable to attend the memorial today. I pray for peace and Gods comfort in this very difficult time for every member of the family!
Rev. Philip Compton, Ph.D. left a message on September 4, 2021:
So sad to hear about Mike's death. He was a student of mine at ONU when he was a deputy sheriff in Allen Co. And we butted heads some times too. However, I served on his doctoral committee when he was in seminary. He was a good man and will be missed.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Dear Theresa and family, I am so sorry to hear that Mike has passed away. Though he is with his Lord, I know you will miss him here on earth. Mike was an long-time friend and someone I always looked forward to seeing at Annual Conference. During the time that we overlapped in Circelville, he was a consistent source of strength when my church was not easy to pastor. I will always remember him as grace-filled and kind. You will be in my prayers, although I cannot attend the service. Love, Martha (Curry) Gross
