Michael C. Murphy

Michael C. Murphy, 67, of Lima passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Cleveland Clinic while awaiting an organ transplant. He was born in Lima on Sept. 30, 1955 to the late Donald and Mildred (McGinnis) Murphy.

Mike graduated from Shawnee High School in 1973 and from Lima Technical College in 1985 with an Associate’s Degree in mechanical engineering.

Mike married Ann Wieging on Sept. 12, 1988. He was a loving and devoted husband and father.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; his daughters: Jasmine Murphy and Kaylee Murphy and a grandson, John C Plummer II all of Lima, OH. Mike is also survived by siblings: Ronald (Kathryn) Murphy of Sarasota, FL; Steven (Joe) Murphy of Corbin, KY; a sister-in-law Karen Murphy of Morristown, NJ; and a nephew Shane Murphy of Bowling Green, KY. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ophelia Williams and a nephew Trevor Murphy.

Mike had extensive careers with Westinghouse/Sunstrand and Procter & Gamble (P&G).  He retired from P&G after working as an Environmental Technician. He loved remodeling houses, cooking, the outdoors and his dogs. Mike will be missed by family members and his many friends.

Friends may call at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville on July 15^th, 2023 from 11:00am -1:00pm. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm with Father David Ross officiating. Interment will take place at a future date in a ceremony at Eternal Reefs in Sarasota, FL.
