Morris E. Strouss, II, age 85 of Lima, passed suddenly early Tuesday morning, June 7, 2022 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. He was born October 24, 1936 in Lima, Ohio to the late Morris E. and Florence Gethner Strouss. On July 3, 1960 he married Nancy Ann Ballinger, who survives.
Mr. Strouss graduated from Miami Jacobs Business School where he studied accounting. He started his working career as an accountant with Neil Dairy in Dayton and then he went to work with his father at the piano store on North Street in Lima. From there he started his own business, Strouss Piano Tuning. He was a Registered Piano Technician for over 45 years traveling around Ohio and Indiana tuning pianos. Morris and Nancy would attend the National Quartet Convention in Pigeon Forge and loved traveling and listening to gospel concerts. He collected records, tapes, eagles, and lighthouses.
Other survivors include a sister – Cheryl Luke of Vero Beach, Florida; brother-in-laws – Don (Virginia) Ballinger of Liberty, Indiana; Earl (Carolyn) Ballinger of Liberty, Indiana; many nieces, nephews; great nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by – a sister- Linda Oglesbee and a sister-in-law – Betty (Boyd) Brown.
Memorial services will begin 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
