Morris L. “Mose” Koch, age 82 of Cridersville, died 8:05 a.m., Thursday, June 26, 2014 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born December 11, 1931 in
to the late Grover C. and Bonnie Koch. On September 11, 1954 he married Mary Henstler, who survives.
Mr. Koch was owner/operator of Koch Construction formerly Recker & Koch Construction; building many home in the Cridersville area and selling real estate. He was known for his attention to detail, doing it right the first time and was a master wood craftsman.
He was a life member of the St. Matthew Lutheran Church. After graduating Cridersville High School in 1949 from Cridersville High School he joined the U.S. Army during the Korean War serving in Kobe, Japan. He was a member of the V. F. W. Post #8445 of Wapakoneta and the #370 Aerie Eagles of Lima.
He loved to spend time with his daughter, son-in-law, and two special grandsons. Traveling, fishing, and going to casinos gave him great enjoyment. Best of all he adored his ‘keeper’ wife which was always by his side.
Survivors also include his daughter – Deborah (Jeff) Garlock of Belle Center, Ohio a son Greg Koch; 2 grandsons – Andrew Garlock of Canton and Christian Garlock of Belle Center.
He was preceded in death by two brothers – Richard L. Koch and Paul F. Koch.
Funeral services will begin 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 30, 2014 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Pastor James C. Couser will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Matthew Cemetery where military rites will be observed by V.F.W. Post 8445 of Wapakoneta.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, St. Matthew Cemetery, or St. Rita’s Hospice.
