Myron E. Dodds, age 68 of Lima, died at 6:30 a.m., Sunday, June 30, 2013 at his residence. He was born March 22 1945 in Bellefontaine, Ohio; the son of the late John O. and Myrtle Tracey Dodds. On February 25, 1972 he married Joan A. Schnipke, who survives.
Mr. Dodds was a retired truck driver and worked for the Northwest District Nazarene Camp. He graduated in 1963 from Indian Lake High School and served in the U. S. Army for two years. He attended the Wapak Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed reading his Bible. He was a self-taught man and shared his many skills by helping his kids around their homes and with their cars. Singing while playing his guitar and keyboard was very rewarding to him, and he treasured time with the family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his children – Tracy Dodds of Delphos, Sean (Erin) Dodds of Wapakoneta; Stephanie (Mike Anderson) Dodds of Michigan; Sara (Thad) Mosler of Wapakoneta; 8 grandchildren – Spencer and Lillian Dodds; Grace and Ian Anderson; Samuel, Elijah, Isaiah, and Kelly Mosler; 6 brothers and 1 sister. He was preceded in death by 1 brother.
Funeral services will begin 6:00 p.m., Friday, July 5, 2013 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Rev. John Dodds will officiate. Military rites will be observed by V.F.W. Post 8445 of Wapakoneta. Private burial will be at a later date in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.
The family will receive friends and family from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
The family would also like to extend a special thanks to the team at St. Rita’s Hospice who took such great care of Myron, especially Paula and Cherry.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita’s Hospice.
