Nancy L. Centers age 70, of Lima passed away 11:33 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 20 at Lima Memorial following a brief illness. She was born June 3, 1952 in Lima to the late Ralph W. and Wanda G. (Hefner) Tippie. She married Ronnie Centers Nov. 21, 1970 and he survives in Lima.
Nancy had been a firefighter, EMT and dispatcher for Perry Fire Department as well as a homemaker. She enjoyed doing genealogy, playing games on her phone, Facebook and feeding the birds. Nancy was active in Perry Schools while her girls were growing up, coaching cheerleading and helping with softball. Her greatest love was for her family, grandkids were her life.
Additional survivors include daughters: Vicky L. (Bobby Woods) Centers of Lima, Brenda S. Miller of Cridersville and Sherran A. (Jason) Batdorf of Cridersville; grandchildren: Bryce M. Owens, Paige Miller, Brayden Owens, Brooklyn Owens, and Parker Miller: great grandchildren Maverick Owens and Maddox Owens; brothers: Ronnie (Shirley) Tippie of Lima, Ralph (Kathy) Tippie of Cridersville and Robert Tippie of Lima; a sister Irene (Roy) Hunt of Lima and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sisters: Elizabeth ‘Dutch’ Gladwell and Hazel Boroff.
The family will receive friends Friday the 25th 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The funeral service will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Terry Brock officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to Pancreatic Cancer Research or UNVERFERTH House in Columbus.
