Ned A. Mowery age 85 of Cridersville, died 9:50 a.m., Thursday, March 27, 2014 at his residence. He was born February 26, 1929 to Ruhie Edward and Margaret ‘Dutch’ Viola Baumgardner Mowery; both parents preceded him in death. On May 12, 1950 he married Jeanne Ann Harshe who survives in Cridersville.
Mr. Mowery was a realtor and a barber and was the owner of the former Mowery Real Estate, and Mowery’s Barber Shop; he was a member of the West Central Board of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. He served in the United States Army in Korea. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post 8445, American Legion Post 330, and the Korean War Veterans Association. Ned was also a farmer, and auctioneer. He belonged to the Cridersville Historical Association, and was fifth generation living on the family homesite. He was also an avid New York Yankee fan.
He is survived by a son Thomas Edward Mowery of Lima; a daughter Kelli A. Raines of Elida; and a granddaughter Courtney Raines of Elida.
He was preceded in death by a son Danny Allen Mowery, a grandson Christopher Raines, and a sister Anna Jean Thomas.
Visiting hours will be held from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 30, at Bayliff and Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
Funeral Services will begin 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 31, at the funeral home. Pastor Joe Wassink will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Matthew Cemetery, Cridersville. Military Rites by V.F.W. Post 8445.
