
Norbert Lewis Hoehn, age 90 of Lima, passed at 9:25 p.m., Friday, January 1, 2021 at his residence. He was born October 31, 1930 in Ottoville, Ohio to the late Leo Anthony and Regina Katherine Gergen Hoehn. On November 11, 1950 he married Twylah Marie Stanyer, who passed October 19, 2010.
Mr. Hoehn retired at the age of 62 as a brick mason foreman with Tuttle Construction and was a member of St. Gerard’s Catholic Church. He was a member of the Bricklayer & Trowel Trades International, the Lima Elks Lodge and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #370, Lima. As a young man he loved working on his farm near Gutman. After retirement he created wonderful pieces of woodcrafts. People who knew his work, were always eager to purchase another piece. He was known for being very detailed and never over charging for his work. He loved watching the Lima Loco’s play ball and working on jigsaw puzzles. Most of all, he loved his family and went to his children’s, grandchildren’s, and great grandchildren’s sporting events, always cheering them on.
He is survived by a daughter – Deborah A. (Ed) Warniment of Tipp City, Ohio; 2 sons – Michael A. (Lisa) Hoehn of Lima; Chris A. (LuAnn) Hoehn of Marysville, Ohio; 6 grandchildren -Kelly Warniment, Brian Warniment, Jason (Heather) Hoehn, Megan (Brian) Scheid, Adam (Nichole)Hoehn, Amanda Hoehn; 6 great grandchildren – Lariah, Landon, Noah, Collin, Kaden, and Avery; a brother – Kenny (Jenny) Hoehn of Murrels Inlet, SC and a sister-in-law – Ann Hoehn of Lima and his beloved dog – Buttons.
He was preceded in death by a grandson – Corey Hoehn; 3 brothers – Butch (Mary) Hoehn, Jerry Hoehn, Bud (Jean) Hoehn; 4 sisters – Marianne Hoehn, Dolly (Bob) Ibbitson, Ruth (Ray) Pangle, and Margene (Dick) Dardio.
Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
