Norma Timmons, 82, of Cridersville, Ohio formerly of Doniphan, Missouri died Tuesday, August 10th at St. Rita’s Medical Center. Norma was born April 1, 1928 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Evert and Katherine Smith, who preceded her in death. On February 13th 1951, she married Johnny H. Timmons, who preceded her in death on March 3, 1999. The were devoted to each other for 48 years.
Norma lived in Doniphan, Missouri for many years until illness brought her to be closer to her family in Lima. In 2002 she became a resident of Otterbein Cridersville where for nine years she called home and made many cherished friendships.
Norma gave to her family a lifetime of wonderful memories and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Hew family was blessed by her love, kindness, joy and encouragement which will be part of their lives forever. Her generous spirit and contagious smile affected everyone who came in contact with her. She enjoyed bird watching, beautiful flowers, cooking and caring for her family. She was also active in the United Methodist Church and was committed to her faith in God.
Survivors include a son, Johnny B. Timmons, of Chino Hils, California: a daughter Tess (Bryan) Luna of Lima, Ohio.
Norma was preceded in death by two step-brothers, Claude Smith and Bob Silsby.
A greveside memorial service will be scheduled in September in Doniphan, Missouri.
