Oron Daniel Hoover, II, age 72 of Cridersville, passed away at 4:58 p.m., Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the hospice unite of Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay. He was born August 1, 1950 in Lima, Ohio to the late Oron D. and Patricia A. McGrievy Hoover. In 2004 he married Lynnona J. Beck Pownell, who survives.
Oron graduated from Lima Senior High School and studied electronics at DeVry University in Chicago and later went to UNOH and studied heating and HVAC. He started his working career at West Electric from 1968 – 1970 in Columbus; then from 1973 – 1993 at Lima Electric Company. He retired from Emerson in Sidney where he had worked for over 20 years. Oron was a Ham Radio enthusiast, loved old cars and attending car shows. He loved genealogy, exploring the different family branches.
Also surviving are his 2 sons – Sean (Christy) Hoover of New Bremen, OH and Eric (Katie) Hoover of Amherst, OH; 4 step daughters – Lori (Kenny) Bushong of Mt. Blanchard, OH; Lana Simon of Findlay; Heather Haugh of Findlay; Tiffany (Clayton Purdy) Pownell of Shawnee; 2 twin grandchildren – Addelyn and Max Hoover; 15 step grandchildren; 32 step great grandchildren; 2 sisters – Michele (Glenn) Conner of Madison, TN; Jane (Jon) Gambee of Hamilton, OH; and a sister-in-law – Debbie Hoover of Bakersfield, CA.
He was preceded in death by a brother – Tracy Hoover and a step grandson.
Funeral services will begin – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
