Paul Edward Neeley, age 75 of Spencerville and formerly of Cridersville, passed at 1:36 p.m., Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at St. Rita’s Mercy Health. Paul Edward Neeley, age 75 of Spencerville and formerly of Cridersville, passed at 1:36 p.m., Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at St. Rita’s Mercy Health. He was born November 29, 1947 in Lima, Ohio to the late Fred Edward and Hattie Mae Waddle Neeley. On April 30, 1977 he married Michele Raye ‘Micki’ Smith, who survives in Spencerville.
Paul spent over 30 years as an auto technician and had worked at Timmerman Ford and Mike Pruitt Ford. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge #691 in Wapakoneta. One of Paul’s talents was music. He played the bass guitar for several country bands including Big Mike Donahue and the Rebels.
He is survived by 3 children – Frances Bourne of Virginia; John Neeley of Lima; and Leslie Lauf of Spencerville; 7 Grandchildren – Dylan, Jaylee, De’Jon, Tyra, Karolyne, Nyla, and Kayne; 2 brothers – David (Connie) Neeley of Florida; Tim (Cindy) Stringer of Florida; a sister – Stella (Jerry) Beeler of Florida and several cousins.
He was preceded in passing by a daughter – Tonya Owens.
No public services are planned.
