Phillip E. Steed, age 64, of Cridersville died at his home. He was born Feb. 9, 1952 in Lima to Richard Allen and Mary Jane Stratton Steed. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Lima.
Rev. Steed was the founder of PSEA Global Ministries, INC of Cridersville. He had been a private investigator, body guard and bounty hunter. He volunteered for and was a board member for Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen. Part of his helping ministry was keeping the streets of Cridersville clean and encouraging people through prayer. He was recognized for his service and was the Grand Marshall of the 2015 Cridersville Fire Department Jamboree. Phillip graduated from Shawnee High School and had attended Ohio Northern University.
Additional survivors include a son Michael Allen Steed of Lima, a daughter Jenny Faith (Gary) Steed of Cridersville, 4 grandchildren, a brother Rev. DeWayne (Rachel) Steed of Lima and 5 sisters: Paula Good, Cheryl VanBibber, Vickie (Ralph) Longobardo, Terri Harbaum all of Lima, and Carol Steed of Oregon.
The family will receive friends 11 to 1:00 p.m. Monday August 1, 2016 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m., Monday with Rev. DeWayne Steed and Rev. Timothy White officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
