On September 2, 2016 at 6:17 p.m., this beautiful soul danced her way to heaven. Phyllis Juanita Jeanne Hofmann Conway was born in Lima, Ohio on April 14, 1925 to the late Frederick John Hofmann and Eva Chloe LeViness Hofmann. On December 21, 1949 she married Robert Stanley Conway who preceded her in death in 1987.
Phyllis’ greatest joy was dancing and singing. She loved big band music, Elvis Presley, and country music the most, along with dances at Lincoln Park. She also enjoyed attending her yearly reunions for South High School Class of 1945. She was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post 1275 auxiliary and an auxiliary member of the American Legion Post 96 for 68 years, holding several offices.
She is survived by her children – David Conway (Cheryl Counts) of Lima; April Conway (Terry Fetzer) of Florida; Robin Conway of Lima; Scott (Valerie) Conway of Lima; grandchildren: Colin Conway, Jason Conway, Nichole (Jason) Stapleton, Christopher (Marsha) Kline, Cole Conway (Zachary Sloan) and Brittney (Nathan) Thompson; great grandchildren: Kacia Luna, Chico Luna, Austin (Aubrey) Stapleton, Corbin Thompson, Aubrey Thompson, Alexis Kline, Everett Kline, and Jordan Kline; and a whole host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 9 siblings: Bertha Clark, Louise Delph, Opal Hofmann, Leora Beebe, Bettye Hickey, Charles Hofmann, Bob Hofmann, Donald Hofmann, and Marshall Hofmann, and a step son Robert Eugene Conway.
Funeral services will begin 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. A V.F.W. auxiliary service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
