Ralph B. Young, 67, of 10417 State Route 364, St. Marys, Ohio died 1:00 a.m., Friday, November 27, 2009, at his residence.
He was born July 29, 1942, in Mercer County the son of Harry Benjamin and Ida Ruth (Deitsch) Young, who preceded him in death. On June 30, 1961, in Celina, he married the love of his life for 48 years, Sharyn Kaye Hawkey, who survives.
Mr. Young retired September 30, 2002, from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Grand Lake St. Marys. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who always put the needs of others before his own. He thoroughly enjoyed teaching and sharing his wisdom to those around him. Mr. Young was well respected and loved by those who knew him.
Suriviors also include two daughters: Shelly K. Brown (Troy Seehase) of St. Marys and Sandra D. Cook of Wapkoneta; four grandchildren; Eric Thomas Brown of Columbus, Nicholas Young Brown of St. Marys, Kayla Ann Cook & Bryan Lewis Cook of Wapakoneta; five brothers: Ben (Doris) Young of Mendon, Dan (Carolyn) Young of Mendon, Larry (Connie) Young of Sioux Falls, Iowa, John (Bonnie) Young of Rockford, Tim (Linda) Young of Van Wert; six sisters: Bonnie (Ralph) Bensman of Celina, Jean (Ernie) England of Mendon, Kathy Gibson of Wapakoneta, Sharon (Dan) King of Venedocia, Alberta (Paul) Siegrist of St. Henry and Roberta (Mike) Sutter of Coldwater; four brother-in-laws; Dan (Dee) Hawkey of Arizona, Ron (Neta) Hawkey, Scott (Dot) Hawkey and David (Ann) Hawkey, all of St. Marys; two sister-in-laws: Diana (Mike) Alge of Michigan and Becky (Earl) Knutzen of St. Marys and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preced in death by his brother and sister-in-law Steve and Martha Young.
His wishes were to be cremated with a private family burial to take place at a later date.
