Ralph Glenn Washam, age 86, of Lima died 6:56 p.m., Friday, Feb. 11 at his residence. He was born Jan. 19, 1925 in Oakdale, TN to Vernon and Mae Nance Washam. He married the love of his life Francis Ann DePalma Aug. 28, 1947 and she preceded him in death Sept. 18, 1999.
Mr. Washam retired as a mechanic for Dietrich Floor Covering, manager of Manhattan & Broadway Cigar Stores, owner of Quick Lock Out and Ralph’s Sharpening and Locksmithing and served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He was a life member of V. F. W. Post 1275.
Survivors include 3 sons: Glenn (Debbie) Washam of Lima, Terry (Marcia) Washam of Avon, OH and James (Penny) Washam of Lima, a daughter: Aubrie Washam of Lima; 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a special nephew Carl Worsham and a very special pet dog TITO.
He was preceded in death by a brother: Eugene Washam, a sister Juanita Kelly and a granddaughter Jennifer Washam.
A memorial mass will be held 9:30 Sat. Feb. 20 at St. John’ s Catholic Church, Lima with Father David Ross as Celebrant entombment of cremated remains will be in Gethsemani Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Allen County Humane Society
