Richard D. ‘Dick’ Emrick age 84, of Cridersville died 7:15 a.m., Wednesday April 24 at his residence. He was born Aug. 10, 1929 in Union Township Auglaize County to Earnest Clay and Norma Hemmert Emrick. He married Shirley Maxine Thrush Oct. 7, 1951 and she survives in Cridersville.
Dick was a member of Cridersville United Methodist Church and V. F. W. Post 8445 Wapak and a former member of Brands Lake Fishing Club and Eagles Lodge, Aerie 691. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and had been a maintenance repairman for the U. S. Government.
Additional survivors include a son: Mark Emrick of Wapak, 3 grandchildren: Laura Ford, Ryan Emrick and Jesse Emrick, 7 great grandchildren and a brother Jonathan Emrick of Annapolis, MD.
He was preceded in death by a son Thomas Emrick and a brother James Emrick.
The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m., Monday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home Cridersville and 10 -10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday April 29 at Cridersville United Methodist Church, Rev. Charles Martindell will officiate and burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery Wapakoneta.
Memorial contributions may be given to Ci-Ki-Lo Food Pantry or St. Rita’s Hospice.
