Richard D. Stude, age 77 of Lima, died at 11:15 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2015 at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima. He was born July 30, 1937 in New York; the son of the late Henry and Erva Futhmuller Stude. On June 17, 1961 he married Barbara Marie DeBevoise, who died January 15, 2008.

Mr. Stude retired from C & G Distributors and then went to work at Walmart, Tom Ahl Dealerships, and Greve Chrysler Jeep Dodge. He was a U. S. Marine Veteran who was very proud of his country and to serve. He was a member of the St. Marks United Methodist Church, the V.F.W. Post 1275, the American Legion Post 96; The Moose Lodge, and the Orioles, all of Lima.

He is survived by a son – Richard Michael ‘Butch’ (Tausha) Stude of Huntsville; 2 daughters – Loretta Marie (John C.) Gamble of Crooksville, OH; Barbara Gayle (finance – Scott Moore) Stude of Lima; 4 grandchildren – Sarah, Chris, Dakota, and Joshua; a brother – Joe Stude of NY; 2 sisters – Ida Orsomarso of NY; Anna Behlen of NC; and a special friend – Linda Welker of Lima, and his little Chihuahua – Zoe.

He was preceded in death by siblings – Johanna; Henry, Herbert, Helen, Marcella, Elanor, Alice, Mary, and Hedda; and half-brothers – Bill and Eddie.

A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the V.F.W. Post 1275 of Lima. Chaplain Dick Coon will officiate.

The family has requested in honor of their father that Cincinnati Bengals or Ohio State attire be worn.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help defray cost.
