Richard E. ‘Dick’ Hartman age 76 of Westminster passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family and fur baby, Axel. He was born May 26, 1945 in Defiance, Ohio to James Richard and Wilma Jean (Plaugher) Hartman. He married Pamela Musselman Nov. 7, 1965 and she survives in Westminster.
Dick was the owner of Hartman Motor Sales in Westminster and also worked for the Lima Auto Mall. He loved working on cars, riding motorcycles, watching NASCAR, attending sprint car races and spending time with his friends & family. He enjoyed his early morning breakfasts with the crew at Kewpee East and especially loved going to car shows and working on antique cars with Rodger McClain & the guys at Lima Auto Mall. He had served in Vietnam with the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW Post 1275 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370. He was a member of First Church of God, Lima and attended Lima Baptist Temple.
Additional survivors include his mother Wilma in Westminster, son Shane (Patricia) Hartman of Westminster, daughter Ginger R. Hartman of Denver, CO; granddaughter Samantha Hartman of Westminster and sister Nancy Littleton of Arlington, TX.
He was preceded in death by his father James ‘Dick’ Hartman Feb. 16, 2011.
As per his wishes, there will be no visitation, a celebration of life will be held 10 to 3 Saturday, June 4th at Lima Auto Mall car show, 2200 North Cable Road. Military rites will be observed at noon. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Westminster Fire Department.

Dick was a frequent visitor at Niswonger Chevrolet during my 25 years there. I always looked forward to him stopping in for a chat.
