Richard G. Campbell

Richard G. Campbell, age 69 of Elida, passed at 12:15 a.m., Thursday, June 22, 2023 at his home.  He was born November 2, 1953 in Sidney, Ohio to the late Joseph and Irene Homer Campbell.  On August 4, 1978 he married Mary L. Rudzinki, who survives.

Richard retired in 2015 from General Dynamics where he had worked for over 35 years. After retirement, he lovingly assisted his wife with her pet sitting business, Auntie Mary’s Pet Sitting. Richard loved the outdoors, enjoyed farming, checking the field, and being in his barn, his castle. He was an NRA member, belonged to the St. Mary’s Blue Creek Conservation Club, shooting at the gun range with his son and grandson. He loved his John Deere tractors and had a great love for his four-legged Husky babies. Richard greatest love was his family, and he especially cherished his grandchildren and watching them playing sports.

He is survived by 3 children and 7 grandchildren – daughter – Elizabeth ‘Libby’ (Brian) Pothast of Wapakoneta – their children – Kelsey (Chandler) Kaeck, Sarah Pothast, and Drew Pothast;  daughter – Amanda Wilder  of Wapakoneta – her children – Corrin Wilder and Lyla Wilder; son – Daniel (Jennifer) Campbell of Leipsic and their children – Alyssa Campbell and Blake Campbell; 1 brother and 1 sister; and a sister-in-law – Nelda Brunner of Lima.

Funeral services will begin 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Chaplain Herb Wilker will officiate. Burial will follow in Allentown Cemetery, near Allentown.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
