Richard W. ‘Dick’ Risner, age 76 of Harrod, passed away from complications of Covid 19 at 1:08 p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2021 at ProMedica, Toledo Hospital. He was born September 2, 1944 at home in rural Alger, Ohio to the late Frank M. and Dorothy Patrick Risner. On June 28, 2020 he celebrated 5o years of marriage with his wife Barbara J. Hale Risner, who survives.
After retirement from Ford Motor Company, Dick worked at Colonial Golfers Club. He played golf every possible day with his golfing buddies, Mike R. Gary, Barry, Harvie, Butch, Dick, David David, and Mike H. While serving 4 years in the U. S. Air Force, he played all over Europe on the World Air Force basketball team.
He faithfully played Jeopardy every evening and also enjoyed watching Spongebob. He loved coaching and mentoring his children, grandchildren and students at Upper Scioto Valley School and never missed a game or event with his children and grandchildren. Most precious to him was time spent with his family.
Survivors also include a son – Joshua Risner of Alger; a daughter – Jade (Jerry) Keith of Alger; 4 grandchildren – Keegan Keith, Kolton Keith, Karsen Keith, and Laina Risner; 2 brothers – Charles Risner of Alger; Ronald (Sue) Risner of Alger; and a sister – Phyllis Coburn of Findlay; and a special surrogate son – Daryl Stephens.
He was preceded in death by a son – Jared W. Risner who passed January 16, 2019.
Due to the pandemic, no visitation or services are planned. The family does not want anyone to get sick and would like to help prevent any other family from the heartache of losing one of their members. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family or to the Needy Student Fund at Upper Scioto Valley.

So sorry to hear that Dick has passed... He and I were classmates at Alger in the class of 1962 and I later encounter Dick at several Military Bases around the globe during our tenures in the military... He will be missed by many. My condolences to you and your family...
Extremely sorry for the family .I remember him as kind happy go lucky ,and always playing basketball and singing .He married a beautiful woman who he loved very much.
