Robert Eugene Clark, age 84 of Lima, Ohio and formerly of Michigan and Florida, passed into the arms of Jesus at 3:26 p.m., Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Lima Memorial Hospital surrounded by family. Bob was born May 10, 1938, in Lima to the late George Clark and Ruth Clark Knotts. On January 17, 1959, he married Barbara March. He met his beautiful bride when they were only young teenagers on the 3rd hole at the Lost Creek Golf Course and have been together for over 70 years!
Bob graduated from Lafayette Jackson High School in 1956. He started his working career as a meat cutter for 31 years eventually becoming the department manager for 18 years. He then worked as a mortgage loan officer for Guardian Mortgage and Flagstar in Michigan and Ohio, respectively. But, his favorite job was being a school bus driver in his later years with the Lee County School System in Florida and fondly nicknamed, “Mr. Bob”. Known as a north mid-western conservative family man who loved the Lord, he never met a stranger, loved working with people, and was a huge fan of OSU. Bob was very active in his church community seeking the Truth, serving in leadership, and living an exemplary life as a Christ-follower. He will be remembered for being a man of his word, being a hard worker, a good friend, a loving husband, father and Papa. Robert Clark will always be remembered as an exceptional man!
Surviving Bob are his wife of 64 years, Barbara; 3 children, Cynthia L. Hemingway of Columbiaville, MI; Robert F. Clark of Grand Blanc, MI; Laura S. Monroe of Traverse City, MI; 8 grandchildren, Adam (Ashlee) Hemingway; Joy (Joseph) Amaya; Abigail (David) Freiburger; Rebekah (Eric) Edwards; Morgan (Zachary) Glass; Bailey (Clay) Jacobs; Lauren (Tucker) Hogarth; and Mackenzie Monroe; 9 great grandchildren; 3 step brothers, Charles (Diane) Knotts; Timothy (Reneé) Knotts; and Bruce Knotts.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Clark and Gary Clark; son-in-law, Mark Hemingway; grandson, Joshua David Hemingway; great granddaughter, Alice Elaine Amaya; his stepfather, Everett Knotts; and step brother, David Knotts.
