Robert J. Brenneman, age 82 of Lima, passed at 5:39 am, Monday, September 12, 2022 at Otterbein-Cridersville. He was born March 31, 1940 in Lima, to the late Roland Grove and Freida Irene Johnson Brenneman. On December 27, 1988 he married Barbara A. Hennis who passed on January 10, 2021.
Mr. Brenneman was owner and operator of Brenneman Industries. One of his favorite things was going to races and watching the sprint cars. The church and ministry were his cornerstone. He was a member of Shawnee United Methodist Church, taught Sunday School, belonged to the Leadership Board, was a Lay pastor, and enjoyed reading scripture. He brought comfort and cheer as he made his visits to shut ins and people in the hospitals. He will be remembered for his devotion to God, the church, and fellow man.
He is survived by a daughter – Deanna E. Hoehn of Delphos; a son – Robert K. Brenneman of Dayton; a step daughter – Elizabeth A. ‘Beth’ (Richard James Koch) Entinghe of Springfield, IL; a step son – David A. (Kelly) Stump of Chesapeake, OH; 5 grandchildren Cody Hoehn, Mackenzie Hoehn, Sydney (Jordan) Welsh, Reid (Beth) Corzine, Hailey (Manny Moreno) Brenneman; 5 great grandchildren – Michael Hoehn, Tristan Hoehn, Rylie Hoehn, LoveLynn Moreno, LoreLei Moreno; 3 step grandchildren – Corey Michael (Anna Mae) Entinghe, Meghan Buragas, Jordan Kayla Stump; 4 step great grandchildren – Jacob M. Entinghe, Eliza M. Entinghe, Jonah David Stump, Brogan Dople; a brother – John Roland (Mary, deceased) Brenneman of West Jefferson, OH; a sister – Marilyn (Don, deceased) Weber of Merrillville, IN.
He was preceded in death by a step son – Timothy Mark Stump.
Funeral services will begin 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Shawnee United Methodist Church. Rev. Chris Heckaman and Lori Wright will officiate. There will be a reception following the funeral service and then proceeding to Walnut Grove Cemetery, Delphos.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Shawnee United Methodist Church.
