Robert M. Schrader age 64, of Rushsylvania, passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022 at home following a brief illness. He was born June 17, 1957 to the late Robert C. and Emma Alice (Skidmore) Schrader Spence. He had been married to Toni T. Spence for more than 45 years, she survives in Rushsylvania.
Bob graduated from Benjamin Logan High School in 1975. He retired from Logan County Highway Dept. Road Superintendent with 30 plus years. He had been a Rushcreek Township Trustee and worked for TSC and Farmers Equipment Co. He had previously served with Logan County Sheriff’s Dept. and the Allen County Sheriff’s Dept. He and Toni also owned the Schrader Countyline Greenhouse. He had been a Logan County 4-H advisor for more than 20 years. He enjoyed woodworking in his shop, making things for the family. Bob never knew a stranger.
Additional family members include daughters: Barbara (Don) Berry of Lima, Leslee (Gary) Simmons, Morgan Sharp and Erin Schrader all of Rushsylvania. Bob was a devoted grandpa and each grandchild was his favorite: Shelby (Josh) Ruth of Lima, Dalton Miller, Jade Simmons of New York City, Ethan Simmons, Chloe Simmons and Sarah Sharp all of Rushsylvania, Alaya Lopez, Remington Ruth and Bearrett Ruth all of Lima; siblings: Susan (Bob) Slaggle of Millersburg, Herb Schrader of Rushsylvania, Shirley (Fred) Hawkins of Elida, Micheal (Mary) Spence of Rushsylvania, Valeria Givens of Ridgeway, Eva (Gary) Adams and Michael Sumney both of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a grandson William Schrader and in-laws Arica Schrader, Carol Sumney, Richard Hayes, Parker Garwick II and David Givens.
