Ronald H. ‘Bud’ Hensley, age 85, of Lima died Saturday Aug. 28 at his residence. He was born Oct. 15, 1924 in Lima to Clayton Hale and Zoe Pearl Watt Hensley. He married Catherine S. Maxwell Oct. 25, 1947, who survives in Lima.
Mr. Hensley had worked as an engineer for the Nickel Plate Railroad for 37 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of American Legion Post 96, V.F.W. Post 1275, Lima, and the Westminster United Methodist Church.
Survivors include four sons: Alan (Kimberly) Hensley of Lakewood Ranch, FL, Darrell (Jenelle) Hensley of Lafayette, OH, Charles (Carolyn) Hensley of Lima and James (Tameria) Hensley of Cumming, GA, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffrey Lynn Hensley, and 2 sisters: Lucille and Ruth.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 4 at Westminster United Methodist Church. Pastor David Burkhart will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 10am until the start of the service.
