Rowena L. Foltz

Date of Death: August 22, 2022

Rowena L. Foltz, age 106 of Cridersville, passed at 7:30 p.m., Monday, August 24, 2022 at Otterbein-Cridersville Assisted Living. She was born January 17, 1916 in Auglaize County to the late Earl and Hazel Walton Stiles. On April 21, 1931 she married Byron Leo Foltz who passed March 16, 2010.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law – Joanne Foltz of Arusha, Africa; 9 grandchildren…Kevin Thomas, Rochelle (Dave) Benfield, Tony (Caroline) Raker, Leslie (Roy) Horton, Pat (Jackie) Raker, Jonathan (Danielle) Foltz, Byron (Casey) Foltz, Megan (Jeff) Jones, Nathan (Tiffany) Foltz; 26 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by 2 sons- Rev. Thomas Leo Foltz and Roger Lane Foltz; 2 daughters – Marleen Sue Thomas and Kaetta Lou Raker; a son-in-law – Les Raker; 3 brothers – Leo Stiles, Ortho Stiles, Glen Stiles.

Mrs. Foltz had worked as a clerk at JC Penney in Wapakoneta and was a member of the Lima Baptist Temple. She loved to sing in the choir and enjoyed traveling to revivals and singing with the family. Rowena was a homemaker and had helped on the farm for many years. She was very talented and could play the piano, organ, and the accordion.

Private family services will be held, and burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, near Uniopolis.
