Roy Lessle Turner, age 64, of McGuffey, died 3:50 a.m., Tuesday March 1, 2011 at Lima Memorial Health Systems. He was born Jan. 7, 1947 in Ozark, Arkansas to Ernest and Hazel Turner. Both parents are deceased. He married Patricia Clark Oct. 20, 1997 in Wheeling, WV and she survives in Sidney.
Mr. Turner had been a laborer in the auto industry and served in the US Army during Vietnam and was a member of the Ada V.F. W. Post 9381. He was a member of the McGuffey Conservation Club, Hog Creek Game Club and enjoyed fishing. Mr. Turner was full blooded Cherokee Indian and was known as Wolf Brother.
Survivors include a son Quenten (Vicky) Turner of St. Louis, MO; a daughter R. ‘Gale’ (Terry) Skinner of Lima, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, a brother-in-law and best friend Fred Cupps of Lakeview and a stepson.
He was preceded in death by a son Ernie Turner and 3 sisters and a stepson Kenny Joe Clark.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday March 12 at the McGuffey Conservation Club. Full military rites will be conducted by Ada V. F. W. Post 9381. And a luncheon will follow.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to services at the conservation club.
