Ruth Kerr Werling age 94, of Cridersville died 11:16 a.m., Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Otterbein-Cridersville. She was born Dec. 24, 1927 in Cridersville to the late Raymond and Carroll Marie (Graham) Kerr. She married Harry G. Werling Feb. 1, 1948 and he preceded her in death August 28, 2015.
Survivors include a son Doug (Sheri) Werling of Wapak, a daughter Sandy (Michael) Briley of Perrysburg, a grandson Dwight (Megan) Werling, a great grandson Barrett Werling; 2 step grandchildren: Karen Briley and Mike Briley, Jr. and 3 step great grandchildren; a sister Marilyn Armer of Wapak and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers: Harold, John, Raymond, Jr., and Byron Kerr and 2 sisters: Helen Long and Ruby Collins.
Ruth retired from Wapakoneta City Schools where she had been a secretary at United Local for 20 years. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Lima and attended Cridersville United Methodist Church. Ruth loved to play Dominoes and Euchre and do puzzles. She enjoyed Ohio State Football and flowers. Ruth had been a volunteer at Lima Memorial Hospital as an Auxiliary member.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Miller officiating and burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity or Cridersville United Methodist Churches.
