Sandra L Mooney

Sandra L. Mooney, age 81 of Cridersville, passed at 6:10 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Springs of Lima.  She was born August 29, 1941,

in Lima, Ohio to the late Ivan Johnson and Margaret Harner Johnson. On April 14, 1960, she married Dennis G. Mooney, who passed April 1, 2000.

Sandy retired as a loan officer with Utelco Credit Union, graduated from Lima Senior High School and was a member of the Cridersville United Methodist Church.  She loved cheering for the Cincinnati Reds, watching NASCAR and found watching golf relaxing. She also enjoyed playing BINGO and taking casino trips with her sister-in-law, Linda Mooney. Her greatest love and joy were her family and spending time with the grandchildren.

Survivors include a son – Jeffrey Mooney of Lima; Lori (Mike) Caprella of Lima; 2 grandchildren – Nicholas Caprella and Jared (Megan) Caprella; 3 great grandchildren – Dominick, Witten, and Jaxson; and a brother – Dennis (Deb) Johnson of Sidney; several nieces and nephews whom she adored.

Funeral services will begin 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 3, 2023 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Pastor Thomas Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Matthew Cemetery, near Cridersville.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Rita’s Hospice or Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities.
