|Tullis, Sara Jane (Turner). Faithful daughter to the late Shirley (Kolter) and Gene Turner. Beloved wife of Roger Tullis. Devoted mother of Suzy (Karl) Lippert, Gene (Melissa) Tullis, Missy (Doug) Davis, Mindy (Mark) Kemper, and Amy (David) Fisher. Loving Grandmother of Karly, Haley and Summer Lippert; Lauren and Caroline Tullis; Brad (Brenna) and Kirsten Davis; Turner Tullis and Evie, Tyler, Cole and Savanna Kemper; Nick Fisher, Anna (Josh) Baker, Grace, Emmy, Brailen and Kaliah Fisher. And proud Great Grandmother of Lyric Hauenstein, Kolter Davis and Ruthie Baker.

Sara was born and raised in Lima, Ohio. She graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1960 and then attended Ohio University. On March 31, 1962 she married Roger Tullis. Sara was a dedicated stay-at-home Mom to her five children. She worked as a bank clerk before settling into her job as Office Manager at the UAW Hall, where she worked until she passed. She served two terms on the Lima City School Board and served as President of the FOP Women’s Auxiliary.

Sara loved spending time with her dear family and friends. She especially loved attending her children’s sporting events, her grandchildren’s activities, Lima Senior sporting events, and most recently her son-in-law, Coach Doug Davis’, basketball games. The highlight of her years was travelling to visit her childhood best friend, Carmen Garza. She “occasionally” enjoyed a margarita at LaChareda’s. Her bright blue eyes, beautiful smile and genuine heart will be missed by so many.

In honor of Sara’s wishes, her family will have a private celebration of her life. There will not be a public visitation or service. The family has established a memorial scholarship through The Lima Community Foundation. Please send donations to: The Tullis Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Lima Community Foundation, P.O. Box 1086, Lima, Ohio 45802.

We never knew Sara. From what we’ve heard she was s remarkable woman and Mother. But we do know the beautiful human beings whose beautiful legacy is being carried on in...Gene, Melissa, Lauren and Caroline our hearts, prayers, support and sympathies are with you. “Grief never ends...but it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith. It is the price of LOVE. John, Leanne and Courtney, Brittany, Austin and Ben Howlett Xox
