Sharon L. Colgan Graessle, age 77, of Spencerville, died 4:35 a.m. Sunday, May 4 following a lengthy illness of cancer. She was born September 19, 1936 in Auglaize County to Fred and Leona Croft Binkley, who preceded her in death. On August 30, 1957, she married James Colgan who died August 7, 1977. On November 28, 2003 she married Don R. Graessle who survives.
Mrs. Graessle was a member of Kossuth Zion United Methodist Church. She retired from the Education Department of St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was a graduate of Spencerville High School, Ohio State University and Bluffton University and also attended Bowling Green State University.
Survivors include one son, Andrew (Lisa) Colgan of Middle Point; two daughters, Heidi (Kelly) Hennessy of Troy and Jennifer (Charlie) Hamby of Lawrenceville, Georgia; two step-daughters, Barbara (Frank) Cira of Wapakoneta and Diane (Rusty) Eutsler of Spencerville; one sister, Greta (Lyman) Mulholland of Spencerville; two sisters-in-law, Anna Binkley and Norma (Charles) Winkle of Spencerville; one brother-in-law Richard Fryer of Spencerville and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Donald, Darrell, Duane, Keith and Robert Binkley and one sister, Linda Fryer.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Thursday May 8 at Ft. Amanda State Park shelter house, Rev. John Medaugh will officiate.
