Sharon R. Rainey, age 67 of Lima, passed at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, October 15, 2018 at her residence. She was born April 25, 1951 in Lima, Ohio to the late James Henry and Lucy Ann (Brinkman) Bellman. She married Dr. Terry Rainey in 1990, who preceded her in death in 2001.
She was a 1969 graduate of St. Joseph High School, Wapakoneta. Sharon was employed at Auto Owners Insurance, before retiring from the DANA Corporation.
Sharon was a beautiful soul and was loved by everyone around her. She was an artist, and avid gardener, and her grandchildren were the light of her life and gave her the most joy. Her children “loved her more than the whole world, and even more than that.”
She is survived by a son – Joseph Jon Poppe of St. Johns; a daughter – Emily A. (Zach) Vail of Perrysburg; 3 grandchildren – Quinn, Josie, and Finley Vail; 4 brothers – Chuck (Diane) Bellman of Cridersville; Rob Bellman of Wapakoneta; Greg (Tamie) Bellman of Wapakoneta; Phil (Deb) Bellman of Wapakoneta; 6 sisters – Gloria (Bill) Bratton of Zanesville; Martha (John) Anders of Ft. Jennings; Doris (John) Sheipline of Wapakoneta; Theresa (Mike) Herbst of Lima; Carolyn (Kevin) Holtzapple of Wapakoneta; Mary (Steve) Brown of Cridersville; a sister-in-law – Loretta Bellman of Cridersville; her former husband and friend – Mark Poppe of St. Johns; and family friends – Greg Lockwood and Dave McLaughlin, both of Lima.
Also preceding her in death are 2 brothers – David Lee Bellman and Denny Joseph Bellman.
Per her wishes there will be no public services or visitation.
“We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love…and then return home.”
