Sharon Rose Montague, age 68 of Wapakoneta and formerly of Cridersville, died at 4:42 p.m., Tuesday, September 14, 2010 in St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was born July 19, 1942 in Lima, Ohio; the daughter of Huber Louis and Hilda Irene Shirmer Morris. Both parents are deceased. On June 30, 1962 she married Robert Dean Montague who died July 2, 2000.
Mrs. Montague retired from the Lima City Schools as a secretary for the transportation department. She had worked at Wright Patterson in Dayton and for the Tower/Bank One of Lima. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Lima. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 691 of Wapakoneta along with her husband. She loved playing BINGO at the Eagles, enjoyed playing cards and an active member of a card club. She took pleasure in golfing and had belonged to a golf league, and bowling. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, whom she treasured.
Survivors include a son – Robert D. (Tammy) Montague of St. Marys; a daughter – Michelle “Shelly” Montague of Cridersville; 5 grandchildren – Sandra (Lucas) Brandt; Bo (Jackie) Montague; Derek (Tawnie) Montague; Cody Montague; and Jaron Montague; 2 great granddaughters – Adalyn Brandt and Kayah Montague; 2 brothers – Jim (Isa) Morris of Georgetown, Kentucky; Philip (Diana) Morris of Cridersville; one sister – Dolores “Dolly” (Bill) Edwards of Mansfield.
She was preceded in death a son David A. Montague.
A memorial service will begin 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 18, 2010 in the Wapakoneta Eagles Ballroom. A gathering of friends will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family.
