Sherry L. Matzen, age 80 of Lima, passed at 1:35 p.m., Sunday, April 25, 2021 at her residence in Lima. She was born December 14, 1940 in Waynesfield, Ohio to the late William Franklin ‘Frank’ and Beatrice ‘Bea’ Keller Sproul. She was married to Richard Matzen who preceded her in death in 2009.

Mrs. Matzen had worked at the United Telephone Company, Value City and helped managed C & J Apartments. Sherry and her husband loved antiques. They would go to estate sales and look for treasures and then sell them at various markets. She had been a member of the Waynesfield Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading books, magazines, working on crossword puzzels, and going on walks.

She is survived by 2 daughters – Cathy (Milton) Ganser of Lima; Karen (Roger, Jr., deceased) Gilbert of Lima; 4 granchildren – David Ganser, Brandon (Heather) Beebe, Amber (Jeremy) Gilbert, and Judy (Timothy) Fugatt; 6 great grandchildren – Darrell, Steven, Millies, Chasity, Dakota, and Shyanna; a brother – Michael (Jean) Sproul of Lima; and her 2 cats – Lisa and Susie.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Burial will be later in Willow Branch Cemetery, near Waynesfield.
