Shirley Marie Crider

Shirley Marie Crider, age 79 of St. Mary’s, passed at 11:24 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2023 at Joint Township Hospital in St. Mary’s.  She was born February 18, 1944 in Lima, Ohio to the late Lester LeRoy and Lula May Adams.  On August 20, 1982 she married the love of her life, Roger M. Crider, who passed June 15, 2016.

She retired from Northmoor Golf Course in St. Marys where she had worked for 27 years.  Shirley was a people person. She loved meeting new people, visiting old friends, and was blessed with a big circle of wonderful friends.  She thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors, playing golf, going to Lake Amanda and visiting Myrtle Beach, and sometimes the casinos. Her family was very important to her, and she treasured time with them. She was known for spoiling her family with very thoughtful gifts, taking them to the pool, and always being there for them. Most of all she will be remembered for her big heart, her caring nature, and her fun loving personality.

She is survived by a brother – Daniel L. (Bertie) Adams of Lima; 2 sisters – Sharon K. Lynn of Florida and Jackie J. (Jeff) Stuber of Waynesfield; 3 special nieces – Christina M. (Robert) Boggs of Delphos; Michelle L. (Randy) Nihiser of Florida; Kimberly S. McElroy of Cincinnati; many other nieces and nephews; and a step daughter – Tannie Crider of Lima.

She was preceded in death by her special nephew – Danny J. Adams; a brother – Lester L. ‘Sonny’ Adams; and 2 sisters – Norma J. Higgins and Kathy L. Miller.

A celebration of Shirley’s life will be at a later date.
