Shirley Shingledecker

December 12, 1937 - August 11, 2021

Shirley Shingledecker age 83, of Lima passed away 7:49 p.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Cleveland Clinic. She was born December 12, 1937, in Fort Recovery to the late Leo and Emily Sawyer Naumburg. She married Harold William Brooks who passed in 1962. Later in life she married James Arthur Shingledecker who preceded her in death in 2015.

Shirley was a volunteer at the Civic Center. She was an avid Harley Davidson rider and a member of the Women of Harley. Shirley loved attending Indian Pow Wows. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, and a member of their choir.

Additional survivors include children, Harold William (Katie) Brooks, Jr. of Goldsboro, NC, Becky (Terry) Retherford of Odessa, TX, Debbie (Joe) Veshinfsky of Catasauqua, PA, Brenda Brooks-White of Orange, TX, David (Susie) Brooks of Lancaster, CA, Steven J. Brooks from Bowling Green, KY, Bill (Marieka) Shingledecker and Barbra (Larry) McVicker both of Lima, OH, stepchildren, Jimmy, Lisa, Vicki, and Dorothy; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Private family gathering will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

We were members of the same church congregation St Matthew Lutheran Church, Cridersville & Shirley will certainly be missed.
