Skip Cater

Skip Cater, age 80 of Lima, passed at 10:25 p.m., Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at St. Rita’s Mercy Health.  He was born July 4, 1943 in Tonawanda, New York to the late Robert and Barbara Wild Cater.  On April 17, 1976 he married Judith Tomlinson, who survives.

Skip retired after 33 ½ years from Ford Motor Company.  He was a U.S. Marine Veteran spending 6 years in the Marines and 11 years in the U.S. Army National Guard.  He and his wife had attended Cridersville Nazarene Church. He loved fishing, camping, and sharing candy with the children.

Also surviving are 2 daughters – Belinda and Cassie, 6 grandchildren, and a brother – Earl J. Cater of Gallion, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by a daughter – Andrea Cryder.

A memorial service will begin 1:00 p.m., Monday, September 18, 2023 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.  Inurnment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery where military rites will be observed by the V.F.W. Post 1275 of Lima.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Monday at the funeral home.
