Terri Metzger, age 68 of St. Mary’s and formerly of Spencerville, died at home on Saturday, December 18th at 10:20 p.m. She is survived by her husband, Fred, of 47 years; her daughter Abby (Neil) Carlson and grandchildren – Rebekah and Matthew of Nebraska; her brothers and sisters-in-law – Gary (Margo) Metzger and Randy (Kim) Metzger both of Spencerville; Penney (Jim) Gerdeman of Ft. Jennings; and several nieces and nephews.
Prior to retirement, she worked in various offices in the Lima area. She was an active volunteer for the Red Cross, March of Dimes, and the Heart Foundation for many years.
Terri and Fred enjoyed many vacations to several Halls of Fame, Valley Forge, Gettysburg, and Mackinac Island to name a few. Trips to visit Abby’s family to witness Rebekah and Matthew’s athletic, musical, and scholastic achievements were some of the life’s highlights.
Following her wish to be cremated, services will be held at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Scott Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow in German Zion Cemetery, near Kossuth.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the funeral home.
