Violet Corrine Point-Dickman Humphrey
Violet Corrine Point-Dickman Humphrey, age 88 of Lima, Ohio, died at 2:28 p.m., Thursday, October 15, 2015 at St. Rita’s Medical Center. She was born to the late J. Vernon and Grace E. Roller Point on May 8, 1927 in Lima, Ohio.
Following the death of both parents, Violet was raised by Wilbur W. and Carrie M. Point, aunt and uncle along with cousin, Paul V. Point who preceded her in death.
Violet graduated June 3, 1945 from Lima South High School, after attending Lima Central High previously.
On November 16, 1946 she married C. Eugene Dickman who passed away June 23, 1971.
Violet worked at Westinghouse in the office and the Metropolitan Bank for 27 ½ years.
She married John C. Humphrey on December 22, 1972. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2001. They traveled and lived overseas for the last 14 years of marriage in S. Suma-tra Indonesia and Borneo, Venezuela and Parts of Spain, Trinidad.
Violet belonged to Ladies Aux of Eagles #370, VFW 1275 Ladies Aux, Women of the Moose #452 Indian Lake and Widow Member of the Elks Club Lima.
Survivors include sister: C. June (William C. (dec) Laman, 2 step-sons: Brian Lane Humphrey (dec) and Jay C. (Karie) Humphrey, step-grandchildren: Amber Leigh Flor, Steven Kyle, Joseph Conner and Tyler James Humphrey, step-great grandchildren: Dylan Gibson, Nathan Hippie and Madison Humphrey. All of Arizona Knows Violet as “Vi” and to all friends and family had love for her pet dogs.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2015 at St. Charles Catholic.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society or charity of choice.
