Virginia Mae “Ginny” Cotton, age 86, of Royal Oak, MI died 2:10 p. m. Tuesday, Nov. 13 at Shawnee Manor Nursing Home in Lima, Ohio. She was born March 3, 1926 in Trimountain, MI to Elmer and Katherine Kratt Eathorne. She married Robert Noel Cotton July 19, 1947 and he preceded her in death June 30, 1993.
Ginny had been a real estate agent and member of Royal Oak United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a son Richard Cotton of Indianapolis, IN, 3 daughters: Candace (Mark) Carpenter of Lima, Ohio, Judith Blanchard of Lake Forest, CA and Catherine Titus of Lake Forest, CA, 6 grandchildren, 2 step granddaughters and 2 great grandchildren, a sister Ruth ‘Babe’ (Roy) Hollowell of Georgetown, TX.
She was preceded in death by 8 siblings: Clayton Eathorne, Vernita Tamblyn, Catherine Moranko, Evelyn Burkman, Marian Whitaker, Lynwood Eathorne, Quentin Eathorne and Robert Eathorne.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a. m., Saturday, Nov. 17 at First United Methodist Church Royal Oak with Rev. Charles Sonquist officiating. Burial will be in Oakview Cemetery at a later date.
