Virginia R Blair

Virginia R. Blair, age 88 of Lima, Ohio, passed at 2:06 p.m., Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at home.  She was born March 27, 1935 in Lima, Ohio to Sam S. Caprella and Rose I. (Fowler) Caprella who preceded her in death.  On June 14, 1952, she married Floyd E. Blair who also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Blair was a homemaker. In her earlier years, she worked twice at Lima Memorial Health System, formally known as Lima Memorial Hospital, once at 16 years of age and once as a young mother. She also worked as a clerk at the Leader Department Store in Downtown Lima. She was a devoted wife and mother. Virginia loved to travel and enjoyed her vacations in Hawaii with her husband and family.  She was also once a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three daughters: Tina M. (Phil) Long, of Elida; Shari R. (Ron) Jones, of Lima; and Shelly L. Jones of Lima.  Survivors also include five grandchildren: Jason A. and Justin K. (Ashley) Long; Brandon M. (Zalika) Jones; Heather A. Jones and Angela (Brandon) O’Bryan. Along with four great grandchildren: Sienna and Savannah Long and Autumn and Johnathan O’Bryan. Also surviving are her brother Mike E. Caprella and a sister Debra L. Caprella.

Three brothers and two sisters-in-law also preceded her in death:  John R. Caprella, Larry D. Caprella, Sam Caprella, Jr. and Nancy Caprella, and Brenda Caprella.

Funeral services will begin 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 7, 2023 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
